the Hunting's...

So I feel not much goes on in our lives over here. Just the usual work, school, clean, cook, run errands, pay bills and be the slave to my very demanding children. We did just sell our Expedition and bought a Honda Odyssey this last week and I will admit that it is very strange going down in size. I feel so small out there on the road. But it has been kinda fun, especially at the gas pump!
I also took Nathan into the doctors and he has his surgery scheduled for June 4th which will not be the final surgery. But this will be THE BIG ONE! With this surgery they will be going into his ribs and be taking out cartilage, this surgery will be done at Primaries and will last 3-3 1/2 hours. They will keep him over night due to a tube coming out of his ribs, which they will remove before he goes home. After this surgery they will do one more just to cut a flap off of his ear that is there to hold the ear into place. Nathan will also be getting his braces on in just a few weeks which I think he's more scared for the braces than the surgery.
Zach is just being Zach. Not much is going on with him other than being the most popular in the neighborhood and being pulled in every direction with his friends!
Jake just got registered for kindergarten!
Aliyah just got registered for pre-school!
And Brycie begs me every day to PLEASE potty train her! Any takers?
Anyways like I said not much is going on here!

Mason Family Update

I have been putting off posting all week in hopes that someone else besides mom and dad would post. Apparently that isn't going to happen just yet. So I'll give you a brief update on each of the members of our family.
Shaun has been busy at work all week. He is excited to have tomorrow off since it will be his first Sunday off in well over a month.
Lindsey went back to work on 1/18/10 after a very nice 7 weeks of maternity leave. It is hard to be back at work, but our financial situation doesn't permit me to be a stay-at-home mom quite yet.
Rylee learns something new every day. She has always had a fascination with letters and now knows what sounds a lot of them make. She is also learning to write. She has mastered writing T, I, F, X, and J. Just the other day she also wrote an R for the first time.
Brynlee went to the doctor for her two month check-up yesterday. She is growing like a weed. She is now up to 10lbs 1 oz. She has learned to smile this week. Now if only she could learn to sleep through the night!
Just a quick reminder that next Sunday, February 7th is Brynlee’s blessing. I hope you will all be able to make it to share her special day with us.

The beginning

Today in Sunday school I really felt guilty as Kathy Cardon taught the lesson on family history and showed the volumes of stuff they have collected since their children were young. They started a weekly family news letter 20 years ago, and are still doing it. Each family summit a weekly update and Bart and Kathy Cardon compiled it into the newsletter with photos and events that happened in their lives. They also include their testimonies and spiritual experiences. Thanks to Lindsey we are going to try the same thing in this format. I know it will be a challenge to all especially us, but with a little effort we're going to try, and hopefully all of you will contribute.
This past week has been busy and somewhat stressful. We started Monday with Ronnie going to the doctor for a follow up with the pain in her hand. Tuesday she took Wanda to the doctor to follow up on a chest x-ray she had a few days before. The doctor told her she needed to go immediately to a specialist in Ogden and would need surgery to remove the fluid on her lungs. She was told she would not improve, but continue to get worse. In fact it was life threatening to not have the surgery. We went to Ogden and met with the doctor; she was admitted in the hospital and had surgery on Wednesday. She stayed in the hospital all week, and will probably be released on Monday. The weather this week was snowy and cold not the best of driving as we made several trips to Ogden. We’re just thankful that I’m doing much better from the hip surgery and now able to get out and do more, I’m not sure how Ronnie would have been able to handle the driving in snow to Ogden.
We have decided to take a leave from working at the temple for awhile. I was released when I had hip surgery on October 6th and Ronnie continued to work. I had plan to go back the first of February, but I still do not the strength to work 2 days a week, so we have both decided to stop working for awhile, and start again sometime later. We have struggled with this decision, and feel a little guilty, but we need to do what is best for our health and family, and feel this is the best decision for us now. We love working in the temple, but will still attend weekly if possible. I have a testimony of the gospel and love serving the Lord by serving others. I hope we can all serve each other and any of our friends and love ones in need.
